LA From A New Perspective

Let me tell y’all about one of the best dates my boyfriend has ever planned for us.

We started off the day right by eating at Nobu Malibu. This was not our first Nobu experience, as our first time was at Newport Beach. However, Nobu in Malibu was something else. You can read all about that here.

After this, I took a fat nap on our way to the next destination. When I woke up, he let me know it was time for our surprise. An OPEN DOOR HELICOPTER TOUR OF LOS ANGELES. My immediate reaction was more shock, but when we drove by the airport and I saw the planes I literally screamed out of excitement. Our pilots were shook that we were doing our first helicopter ride with open doors.

LET’S JUMP TO THE GOOD PART. We were seated in a tiny helicopter by Lite Flight Helicopters in Van Nuys. It was smaller than I envisioned it would be! Lift off was not bad at all, and nothing like taking off in an airplane, the only experience I could compare it to. The wind got me though, it’s so INTENSE it was almost painful at times HAHA. On the tour we made stops at Dodger Stadium, the Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, Downtown LA, Staples Center, and the Santa Monica Pier.

My favorite part was the Santa Monica Pier! We saw DOLPHINS and it was so surprising how close they were to the shore.

Was it worth it? Yes. If you didn't know, both Ian and I were born in LA. It was a completely new experience to see our hometowns from a different perspective. I would especially recommend doing something like this on a vacation, if not in your hometown.
